There are many different reasons You may need to replace the side view mirror in Your Ford Explorer. The cheapest option is to find a junkyard and buy one from there since a new replacement from Ford will cost a lot of money. To replace the mirror You will only need a few simple hand tools, a flat head screwdriver, A7 and 11mm socket with an extension and a ratchet. First You need to remove the door panel by prying the handle covering off and disconnecting the switch pod. From there You need to remove the 7mm screws that hold the panel to the door frame, there should be 6. Once You have the door panel off You will need to remove the three 11mm bolts that hold the mirror to the door, this will allow the mirror to be removed. All thats left is to reverse the procedure to install the replacement.
