To replace the side mirror glass in Your Ford Explorer, first, You'll want to remove the old glass by popping it out from the mirror assembly. Do this carefully; You don't want broken glass everywhere. You should see glue strips on the replacement glass. Go ahead and peel those off, and hold the glass by the edges, aligning it with the side mirror frame. Now, push in with equal force; the glass is going to snap into place, but it's going to take what feels like a lot of pressure; You want to be firm, but You don't want to break Your new mirror. Given the glass alone can run almost the same price as the complete side mirror, it sometimes makes sense to just buy the latter and not hassle with it.
