To reset the computer on Your Toyota Avalon, go ahead and pop open Your hood and turn Your ignition to OFF. Make sure You have Your parking brake activated for safety purposes. Once You've done that, You will need some pliers for the neXTStep. You could also use a wrench if You don't have any pliers laying around. Now, You will disconnect both the negative and positive cables that are connected to Your battery. After they've been disconnected, You will wait around 5 minutes total. Go ahead and reconnect the cables and Your computer should now be reset. You can now turn the ignition ON and check that everything was reset.

To reset the toyota avalon computer you will need a obd diagnostic tool. Plug the obd tool into the port and run it there will be a button that will allow you to reset the ecu/computer.
