For the 2020 model of the Toyota Corolla the ECO indicator is not a reference to the mode being activated but it is telling You that You are driving in a way that is saving gas. Starting with these models they decided to do away with the eco mode entirely and now when You see that light it is just a recognition that You are driving in a way that is eco friendly. If You want the light to go away You can switch to sport mode but that will cost You more gasoline.
