The Honda Accord's traction control works with the VSA to increase stability over unsafe or slippery driving conditions. It can be powered off by depressing the "TRAC" button but will automatically re-engage when detecting speeds greater than 20 mph. To fully disengage, turn the key in the ignition to the "on" position without starting the car and depress the brake pedal and hold. Press the TRAC button off and on. Engage the parking brake. Release the pedal. Turn traction control off and on again. Depress the pedal again. Hold TRAC one more time to switch off and on. Two lights will illuminate. One will be flashing. The flashing light will continue until the car is turned off, but indicates traction control has been successfully completely deactivated. The process must be repeated each time the vehicle is started.
