The heating element in the Volkswagen Jetta's side mirror is activated by turning the mirror adjustment knob to the 180 degree position. No activation light is emitted when the heat is switched on in a VW's mirrors. The heater will only activate if the ambient temperature iS65 degrees or less. If left on, a mirror will avoid fogging over in the morning when it's colder but remain clear when the weather warms up in the afternoon. In colder climates the mirror's defrost option may remain constantly on. If the mirrors fail to heat, check the Jetta's ambient temp sensor or the wiring/wiring harnesses attached to the side mirrors.

To turn on heated mirrors on the 2019 Volkswagen jetta, use the controls on the interior door handle for the mirror.
