If the ford explorer is equipped with the lane assist feature, there will be a button for it near the climate controls on the center of the instrument panel. It looks like a two lanes with a vehicle driving between them. Simply press it once to turn the feature on.

Mine has a button on the tip of the turn single lever. Push the button and lane assist comes on. I have a 2014 explorer limited.
