To use the "snow" button on Your Toyota Highlander look for the switch on Your gear shift lever. The snow button makes it so that Your car will start in second gear rather than first. This will make it so You have more power when You firSTStart moving, so as to be able to push through set in snow. This won't do much for ice, however, and You may still need snow tires or chains. Do not leave the button pressed for long after You get moving or it may cause damage to the transmission. A blown transmission is very expensive to fix, in the thousands of dollars, so You really don't want this to happen.

The snow button does not have your Highlander start in second gear. Read the owner's manual.

To use the "snow" button on your toyota highlander look for the switch on your gear shift lever. After depressing the "snow" button your transmission will start off in second instead of first gear to help your vehicle navigate snowy ad icy conditions better.

So the snow button starts the car in 2nd gear. To remove the torque that causes wheel spin.not more power, shouldn't hurt the transmission in theory, just does not use first gear, the torque convertertakes up the difference
