A P0301 code on a Ford F-150 indicates that the onboard computer is detecting a mIS Fire in cylinder 1. This is usually due to worn out spark plugs or worn out or disconnected spark plug wires. Common signs of faulty spark plugs include slow acceleration, loss of power, poor fuel economy, engine mIS Fires, and difficulty starting the car. Spark plugs should be replaced at 100,000 miles. Spark plugs will deteriorate over time, so if they are not replaced, various engine issues will arise. When the spark plugs do not spark adequately, the combustion of the air/fuel mixture becomes incomplete leading to loss of engine power, and in the worst-case scenario, the engine will not run.
