The P0401 code in the Ford F-150 points to a problem with the emissions system and is associated with either a bad DPFE or "Delta Pressure Feedback of EGR" sensor; a failing EGR valve and related parts or a d***y throttle body. The problem arises when the exhaust gases are not being re-circulated correctly either due to pollution, part failure or ECM malfunction. The error indicates there is insufficient flow somewhere in the system and F-150 owners should be aware that the throttle body can become clogged with dirt, sludge and debris in two ports located on its assembly. If Your truck's "check engine" light is on and it hesitates in drive, it could be related to a P0401 code generated by EGR issues.

P0401 means that the engine computer has detected that the exhaust gas recirculation (egr) system flow is insufficient.
