As the owner of a Ford Escape, you likely already know that over the years of ownership, you will see a variety of lights and codes appearing on your dashboard. Of course, the majority of these codes mean nothing more than it is time for routine maintenance. Code p144c means that the powertrain control module is reporting an evap canister's purge check valve is stuck in an open position. The valve can either be manually adjusted, or replaced. This will cost you between $30 and $85 for parts alone. If you have it done by a mechanic or service pro, you will need to pay an additional $50 to $240 for labor.

When the ford escape displays the code p144c pcm has discovered an issue with the evap canister purge check valve, and could potentially cost between $238 and $251 for repair.
