To reset the engine management light for the Ford Transit, watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Mw9dof3vWg The coolant needs to be changed every 60,000 miles or so. Your air filter needs to be changed every 15,000 to 30,000 miles or so. The spark plugs need to be replaced every 100,000 miles unless it's a copper one. A cooper spark plug needs to be replaced every 30,000 miles. You will come into many problems with an engine. A gasket may become loose and that needs to be tightened up. A spark plug may come off, causing engine issues. You can have oil leaks and those need to be repaired quickly. A serious problem is the engine overheating. This may lead to fires and the vehicle exploding. There could be excessive oil use, requiring the oil to be changed sooner than expected.

I switched the ignition on and held the brake and accelerator pedals to the floor for 30 seconds, but all it did is reset the oil change information. Any other suggestions on how to clear the engine light?

Turn on the engine, then hold down the brake and accelerator panels for 20 seconds to reset the check engine light.

The spanner service light can be cancelled by turning the ignition on but not starting the engine. Press and hold the brake and acceloratorpedals together until the spanner lights blinks. Take your foot off the pedals and the light will go off. If it is the engine management light then the vehicle needs to be plugged into a computer to cancel that one.
