Some of the problems with the GMC Sierra Stabilitrack are a bad wheel speed sensor, a failing brake pedal switch, and the wrong tire size. When the Service Stabilitrack message appears on Your dash You might be worried right away. I would be worried too if I got a message on my dash. But, luckily it's nothing a mechanic can't fix. The moment one of Your wheel speed sensors fails, the service light will turn on right away. To fix You'd need to replace the sensor. If the brake light switch fails, it will disable the Stabilitrack causing the light to come on. If You put the incorrect tire size on Your vehicle, the service light also comes on.

If the GMC sierra has issues with the stabilitrak, otherwise known as the electronic stability control module or ESC, then it will experience issues with the speed and abs sensors, as well as making for bad traction control when driving.
