The 2004 GMC Envoy transmission problems include the transmission slipping when changing gears, or shifting becoming really difficult in general. One of the most common causes for slipping gears and shifting becoming hard are bad solenoids. Usually, the cost to replace them is in the range of $125 to $170 (per solenoid) for both parts and labor. If You do have bad solenoids, its okay to drive lightly before You can take Your car in to be fixed, just dont tow things or drive fast. However, if one day You turn it on and it wont move at all, its because the first gear solenoid has gone out and Your vehicle wont be able to move until its fixed.
