The main door lock problem with the 2005 Dodge Ram is usually caused by a problem with the door lock actuator. When the actuator has problems then it will not be able to lock or unlock the doors and the only way to fix it is to replace the actuator. Another problem that can happen is with the body control module. This is the computer that controls the door locks, the windows, and the alarm system for the truck. When there is a problem with this computer then the locks may not work properly as well. A final thing to check is the battery in the key fob. If this battery dies then You will not be able to use it to lock or unlock the truck.

The issue with the door locks on this vehicle is that they may fail to get power, making it so that they will lock or unlock with out the drivers control.
