The 2006 Chrysler 300May experience shifting problems due to PCM issues. 2005-2016 models have been known to demonstrate rough shifting, shuddering, hesitation and jerky acceleration, due to faulty PCM software. Numerous owner complaints document these issues. The 300's PCM can be restored through software updates available from the manufacturer or a Chrysler dealership. Malfunction, on average, usually arises at 91,580 miles. At certain points the vehicle's computer can also encounter mechanical stress through corrosion, heat, or engine vibrations. In some circumstances a shorted solenoid or actuator circuit can impair the power control module's function during voltage overloads. The cost to replace the Chrysler 300's power control module ranges from $850-$880 in parts and labor.

To reset the pcm on the 2006 chrysler 300 you need to disconnect the negative cable from the battery, when you do the pcm will loose power. After 5 min you can reconnect it and then it will be reset. If the pcm is damaged then the power train will not function correctly.
