The 2006 Dodge Ram 1500s most well known transmission shifting problem is that it slips or wont shift at all. If You change out the solenoids, this can sometimes fix the problem. If You have it taken to a shop to be serviced, You can expect the cost to be in the range of about $150 to $400, since each solenoid replacement can be about $100. You can still drive the truck for a while without causing serious damage, but You cant do any heavy hauling or drive at high speeds to be on the safe side. All of that said, if Your truck turns on but wont move at all, it means the first gear solenoid is out and You wont be able to drive at all until You get it fixed.
