The biggest problem with the ignition switch in a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 series is that the switch fails completely. When this happens it means that Your vehicle's ignition system will not work and the truck will not be able to start. If Your ignition switch fails the only way to fix it is to replace it with a new one. Unfortunately on Dodge trucks from this era it is a relatively common problem as there are numerous reports from owners saying that theirs had failed in their truck. If Your ignition switch is not working the one thing You can check on it is just the wiring. Make sure that it is tight and not frayed at all.
