Some of the common issues for the 2006 Lexus IS350 are faulty timing cover, bad water pump, and transmission pan leaking. A lot of these problems are due to high mileage vehicles that have had wear and tear over time. The cause for some of these problems like the transmission pan leaking has been due to a bad sealant or gasket which will need to be replace. The gasket will wear over time during excessive heating and cooling. Timing cover will become warped and will need to be replaced as over time the heat causes the timing chain to stretch which will rub on the timing cover. You will notice a ticking or clicking sound when starting the vehicle that could be the issue. Water pump is on a pulley system and has had reports from consumers about it leaking or needing to be replaced because it is faulty and causing the vehicle to over heat.
