A problem specific to the 2006 MaseratiQuattroporte's transmission system is having the on-dash display show a transmission failure message and the car not starting. You'll see a message showing that the clutch haS-100% wear for awhile prior, but likely won't feel much slippage. You'll need to get the clutch replaced, if this happens. You've noticed the vehicle won't start in this state, and that's due to the computer sensing too much loss with the clutch and actually preventing it from starting. While You can reset the computer and maybe get a week's worth of starts without issue, You'll have it revert to the replace clutch indicator shortly therein. Getting a new clutch sorts this out. Beyond that issue, just be aware of making sure Your gears are lubricated, as a friction-less transmission is a happy transmission.

If the 2006 maserati quattroporte is having issues with the transmission then you will notice several problems, including shaking or grinding while driving, a burning smell when the vehicle is on, the gears slipping when you shift, the shifter becoming stuck or non responsive, and leaking fluids. This can all lead to a transmission failure which will more or less kill the vehicle.

Hi Kalvina P maybe it's been a long time since your statements, but I'm interested in what was the solution in your Maserati. Because I've had the same problem for a long time, and no one in my small country can detect the problem on the transmission, but it simply stands in Neutral mode and they don't want it to go at all forward nor backward. Same model and year as your Maserati
