The 2007 Chevy Avalanche has been known to suffer from transmission problems occasionally. The most common problem reported was an extremely hard or tight 1-2 shift. Some users said that the cars engine would also bog when this happened. Other people reported occasional gear slipping, as well as hard shifting with the vehicle's transmission systems. With this model in particular, these issues are caused by the torque converter clutch not working as intended. When the torque converter clutch is applied simultaneously as the driver shifts the gears, the cars engine begins to chug and bog down after extensive use. These happen to be the bulk of the transmission issues.

If the 2007 Chevy avalanche is having issues with the transmission then you will notice several problems, including shaking or grinding while driving, a burning smell when the vehicle is on, the gears slipping when you shift, the shifter becoming stuck or non responsive, and leaking fluids. This can all lead to a transmission failure which will more or less kill the vehicle.
