Owners of the Chrysler Aspen complain that when re-fueling the vehicle, the auto shut off feature fails to work and large amounts of gas are spilled on the vehicle, ground and driver. The problem has been reported by many people and is regarded as a dangerous defect in the vehicle that has not been addressed by a recall. In general, as drivers attempt to fuel the vehicle, the filler neck suddenly shoots gas onto the exterior of the car after the auto shut off feature activates. In most instances the system was initiated too early, before the Aspen's tank was finished filling. The failures were reported in relation to the 5.7 HEMI engine and in on instance the vehicle caught on fire.

To reset the fuel pump on the 2007 chrysler aspen you will need to find the inertial switch, which is under the dashboard, and press the reset fuel pump button on it. If this does not work then you have a damaged fuel pump, which can cause sluggish acceleration or lack of fuel to the engine.
