Many owners of the 2011 Chevy Traverse have experienced a sudden loss of engine power under warranty. Failures usually happen at highway speeds and are accompanied by a "stabilitrak/service traction control" warning message. Often cars will be disabled to speeds a little over 25 mph. When examined at a dealership the Traverse's OBDII codes indicate a problem with the throttle body. Most are replaced if the vehicle is under warranty. The number of complaints has grown and GM encourages owners to contact the company's customer service team with the Traverse's VIN number to initiate a claim for repairs with their local dealership, if they have not already been completed.

If the2011 Chevy traverse has issues with the stabilitrak, otherwise known as the electronic stability control module or esc, then it will experience issues with the speed and abs sensors, as well as making for bad traction control when driving.
