Some of the 2011 Mercedes E350 convertible problems are a bad hydraulic pump, broke open/close switch, and defective deck lid lift solenoid. These issues have been known and are mostly due to faulty components or wear over years of extended use. Consumers have reported these to be things that have been reported and Mercedes Benz is aware of the problems. The first thing you want to do to inspect the convertible top is to see if you are getting power to the convertible top. If there is no power it might be a fuse or short in the wiring so inspect the wiring harness for the top. After that you can look at the convertible top components in the back of the trunk to see if there is any leaking of fluid or noticeable damage.
