The 2012 Volvo S60 t5 has some outstanding safety ratings which make it very reliable. However, there have been reports of some common problems with the engine. Some of them are excessive oil consumption, stalling, rough idling and weak acceleration. The t5 model comes with a turbocharged 250-hp five-cylinder, matched with a SRX-speed Geartronic automatic transmission. However, the average maintenance and repairs annually is $760. While engine problems might not always be evident, You will get a standard check engine warning if there is an issue to be addressed. Do not ignore these warnings, as they could be indicative of a serious issue. Regular maintenance will reduce the occurrence of engine problems.

Many of the before listed engine symptoms can possibly be related to the Evap purge valve solenoid.
