The 2014 BMW 550i engine problems are common and have been reported by consumers. Some of the issues are excessive oil consumption, fuel injector failure, and damaged or warped timing chain. The reliability score was A3out of 5 which ranks it as one of the least reliable luxury brands. The oil issues are due to the position of the turbos causing the engine to get hotter than normal and burn the oil and even drying out gaskets. The injector failure has been known issue and some of the symptoms to look out for are rough ilde, poor acceleration, and engine mIS Firing. The issue can happen with low mile vehicles and the cost is about $200 and the labor will be about $800.

I have a 2014 BMW GT 550 with 100,000 miles. I use 2 quarts of Mobil 1 every 850 miles for almost 2 years. No smell in the car, no oil on the floor. I did have fuel injector failure problems. No other problems. Bought it New.
