There are numerous different problems that can be going on with the starter on the 2014 Chevrolet Malibu. Some of the problems could be that the starter is cranking too slowly or that the starter isn't cranking at all. Though sometimes these might not be problems with the starter it could be that the battery is low or that the battery cables are too corroded. The starter is an electric motor that cranks the engine when You turn the ignition key, so without it You wouldn't be able to start the vehicle. The starter on the Malibu should last anywhere from 75,000 to 125,000 miles or so. If the problem is with the starter, it costs anywhere from $80 to $100 in labor costs to replace it.

If the 2014 Chevy malibu cranks but wont start then you have a dead battery or a bad ignition switch. You may also have dead spark plugs.
