The 2016 Chevy Trax turbo problems are grinding brakes and faulty alternator. Your brakes need to be in the best condition. Having faulty brakes will lead into issues. A loose bearing can make for bad stops. The brakes can lock up, which will result in wrecks. Screeching sounds can arise from low brake fluid. Bad brake pads will result in problems with the vehicle coming to a halt. Premature brake wear is an issues that needs to be addressed. Brake equipment will become old and will need to be replaced at some point. The brake pads and shoes need replacing every 50,000 miles. The brake rotors need to be changed every 60,000 miles. The brake fluid needs to be changed every 20,000 to 45,000 miles.

I’ve had to fix the AC within 2 yrs of owning my Chevy trax, fix the turbo within 3 years of owning my Chevy trax, and now fixing The engine at 5 years. I do not recommend the 2016 Chevy trax. I’ve maintained this vehicle very well, and am completely disappointed. I’m not even finished my payments on the car, and it’s a write off.

Most of the problems you will find with the 2016 Chevy trax will come from not maintaining the vehicle and can include engine failure, transmission failure, and wear and tear on the brakes. As long as you keep to the vehicles maintenance schedule however there should not be an abundance of issues. Other common issues can include bad brake pads, old oil in the system, or burned out wires. These things should be checked over if buying used.
