The 2018 Nissan Rogue is known to have some issues with the liftgate opening. The problem tends to be that the liftgate actuator needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, the cost replacement will be in the range of $400 to $500, and thats not including labor. If you want to save some money, you can attempt to replace it yourself. The process is actually pretty fast and easy if you go that route. The first thing you need to do is open your trunk, and remove the four clips on the panel with a flathead screwdriver. Now using the screwdriver, gently pry off the door open button/casing, then push on the connector gently, and pull it off the wires. Then using the screwdriver, pop out the hand grip on the panel. After that, youll be able to pull down on the entire panel to remove it. Now you need a 10mm socket and needle nose pliers. Locate the actuator, and remove the screws surrounding it with the 10mm socket - there should be 4. Now just take the actuator out and disconnect it from the wires with your pliers. Replace it with the new one and you just have to put everything back together.
