There are a few reasons why you may be dealing with climate control issues in your 2019 GMC Terrain. The most common one is a problem with the temperature actuator on the driver's side. This electrical component can jump from hot to cold or heat to air conditioning randomly, if it goes bad and the internal settings are compromised. The actuator is near the bottom of the heater box, beneath the dash on the passenger side. You can usually have one replaced for around $200 plus labor. If only one side of the climate control is working, you may just need to reboot the system. This is easily done by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. When the engine is started, the actuators recalibrate. You may also have a freon leak or an issue with the heater box or push button control on the dashboard.
