The Cadillac XT4 transmission problems are delayed shift and slipping. The transmission is one of the most important parts of the vehicle. You will come into problems at some point. The gears may become stuck. If the transmission fluid leaks, that needs to be patched quickly. There might be jerking. Delayed shifts will cause acceleration problems. Hard shifts could come up and that is not good. The transmission could slip. You may experience shudders. The transmission fluid needs to be replaced every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. Along with fluid changes, terrible sounds will come from the transmission. Old transmission fluid will be awful to the ear. A worn out torque converter will cause a headache.

Mine has 2700 miles it has been jumping at low speeds since I got it. Been to Sullivan in Ocala twice. It just like feels like something is not right. I was told it could not decide what gear it wants to be in and it was the 9 speed transmission. This is my 4 Cadillac I am no5 happy and feel something is wrong.

I have a 2021 Cadillac XT4. Same issues. At low speeds vehicle hesitates/jerks. Also transmission will only shift into 9th gear at highway speeds if you accelerate slowly and allow it to under 60 MPH. Then vehicle will stay in 9th gear at highway speeds. It will stay stuck in 8th Gear if you accelerate moderately up to highway speeds. At the dealership for the 3rd time for this issue.

I special ordered an XT4 and took delivery of a 2022 model in August 2022. In October the transmission died due to transmission fluid leaking into the transmission as a result of a manufacturing defect. And to top it off, parts are backordere for 3 months. The dealership has tried to be helpful, but Cadillac itself has been 100% useless. Don't buy Cadillac.
I have had no problems but received a notice that my o star detected a problem possibly related to the transmission and to schedule an appointment within seven days. It is being brought in this morning. Will keep all posted.
Leased a 2021 XT4. After 3rd oil change, suddenly the transmission slipped dramatically from stopped position to initiating any acceleration. For two days this happened. We were so alarmed, we had it towed to dealer from 30 miles away. After a week they said they could not duplicate the problem. Since I have gotten it back, it still slips but not as severely. I had hoped to buy the car at the end of the lease. Now I will flee, thanking the good Lord that I don’t own that car.

My 2023 XT4 transmission pops the clutch when downshifting from 3rd to 2nd and 2nd to first. Been to the dealer twice; first time Cadillac told them to do nothing and second time they did a software update, which did nothing. Buyer beware
