The biggest issue that the Dodge Journey will face with it's rack and pinion is a leaking issue of the power steering fluid. If you're having an issue this should be the first thing you check. Open the hood and then look to the lower right side in front of the engine for your fluid reservoir. Have a look and inspect it to Make sure the seal is tight and there are no cracks forming on it. If you are having problem with turning the wheel and hear a clunking noise then you're going to need to take it in to a professional because this could lead to an accident.
