The most common shifting problems associated with the Dodge Ram 2500 are hard shifts, getting stuck in gear, and failure of the torque converter to lock. Your car's transmission uses the power of Your vehicle to move the engine at various speeds. There are two designs of transmissions automatic and manual. Automatic vehicles perform all the work for You such as shifting from precise operating systems. But how much will a transmission replacement cost You. Transmission replacement will cost anywhere from $800 to $3,400 depending on the type of transmission You are buying. Used transmissions cost about $1,150 with average prices ranging from $800 to $1,500. Rebuilt transmissions cost about $1,950 with average prices ranging from $1,100 to $2,800.

My 2019 Laramie 2500 started hard shifting into second gear. Told the dealership about it they said transmission had to learn my driving style! Two days later taking off from a red light truck jumps real hard and as I am going won’t shift and only will go 45 mph. They tow the truck it spends 1 month in the shop waiting for transmission controller! It comes in they replace it I get my truck back! The second day I have it back going down the rd truck shifts hard and loses power! I am 3 hrs from home I arrange a ride home they tow the truck to dealership where I bought it from it spends 2 weeks in parking lot before it makes it in the shop (just bought the truck for 65k had 13k on it) I wait 2 months for back ordered parts to rebuild the transmission! The transmission rebuild was completed they took it for a test drive and transmission blew up! So I am still without my truck while dealership waits to see if Chrysler approves a new transmission for the 65 thousand dollar truck I just bought

2500 RAM with 19,500 miles:manual shift override first failed at 8,000 and not fails 90% of the time... But doesn't show on electronic scanner. Revs to 5900 RPM while stuck in fourth. Rides in 2nd gear on flat open highway. Under warranty ... Mechanic said to drive it to the ground and maybe then they will admit there is a problem and honor the warranty. Not happy.

For the dodge ram 2500 2016 transmission problems include the transmission slipping when shifting, and shifting being difficult to do at all. This will make it so you need to replace or fix the transmission.
