There have been customer reports of issues with the power liftgate in the GMC Acadia and are relatively common. The problems are caused by several factors, such as a faulty liftgate strut, broken liftgate sensor, or defective wiring harness. With any elimination process, these conditions can be readily diagnosed. To check if you are getting power to the liftgate, you will need an OHM meter first. You will then inspect the wiring for any corrosion or shorts and then check to see if there is damage to the liftgate struts. Depending on the state and nature of the replacement component, the price for a gate replacement will vary from $500 to $650. It will cost between $20 - $40 for the Liftgate sensor which is much easier to repair and will require less labour.
