Although the Mazda CX5 has recently updated its infotainment system to include an impressive 10.25-inch display screen equipped with Mazda Connect infotainment software, earlier models suffer from infotainment complaints that include a need for radio head unit replacement at only 50,000 miles. In these cases owners found the media display refused to power on and boot up and replacement costs averaged $1,700. Other issues include bluetooth malfunction, digital skipping through radio channels and clock failure. Problems occurred on average at 7,000 miles and happened repeatedly. Most complaints lodged against the CX5, however, involve lights, power windows and brake issues. In addition to rattling from window assemblies and the failure of the Mazda's DRL's, brakes were reported to wear out prematurely at approximately 30,000 miles.

Infotainment system constantly shuts down and the reboots on it's own. Usually about every 10 minutes. Very frustrating
217 Mazda CX5 screen jumps to other channels or tone and balance or sets favorites. Had system reboot at dealership last year. Did not help. Might be heat related as I live in South Florida

2019 Mazda CX-5: Entire display screen goes blank/black..except for showing streets. Cannot make calls, listen to radio, Apple Car Play doesn't work. Have to shut down car and restart which reboots the system. Problem is intermittent. Dealer updated software but problem still persists. Now recommends screen replacement..which is on back order.

This is a known issue, some SD cards are faulty and need to be replaced.
Same infotainment unit on dash2019cx5 starts to do its own thing at random. Call people change radio stations, sim thescreen. Now putting something in my window to keep the heat off the unit- still does it, just makes me feel better 🤦‍♀️. Where’s the class action suit on this? They know it’s a problem and it’s expensive to fix!

Infotainment system does not turn on in NEW 2021 Mazda CX-5 since getting the car for at least the first 20 minutes of my drive. Sometimes it’s the whole day. When it comes back on- the audio remains off and cannot be turned on. Beyond frustrating! Would never get a Mazda again! Buyer beware

Brand new 2023 cx5 turbo edition 800kms, and screen shuts down and reboots approximately every 5-10 minutes. Have yet to book it in for service. Curious to see how they handle this

2021 CX5 fresh off the lot 3 months ago - as of this morning the infotainment system is dead dead dead
This is beyond ridiculous. The unit rwboots every 10 minutes and is essentially worthless. To make matters worse, its not just a dead unit. The reboots are diatracting and at night a safety issue. Once had a female friend drive it at night -only to find the navigation failed on the reboot leaving her lost. She had to use the phone and deal w the reboot flashing screen to get home. Annoying. Go to this site and jump on a class action lawsuit. This was not a luxury option. Was experiencing the ghosting on infotainment screen. Now that the new screen is ready to be installed it’s working (back to normal). I have no idea what caused it to jump around and end up on the parental Lock Screen/pin code screen. NeverI had myMazda CX3 for 7 years and never had anything like this happen. It corrected itself as I am ready to have the LCD screen replaced.
Bought a Mazda CX-5 (2020) a few years back. Haven’t had a single issue until today. My son was driving and said that the system automatically switched through multiple screens, launched the keyboard and started typing almost like it had been hacked.

My son has same problem on 2018 cx 5. You have to call the mazda corporateheadquarters before you fix. They claim they will get part for free and you'll only have to pay for labor which should only be 80 dollars. Do not let mazda dealer bullshit you into paying 450 dollars to fix. The corporate office said it is a known defect and dealer should tell you that.

2017 Mazda Infotainment system ghosting, very frustrating, Bluetooth drops every 2 minutes. Just replace the radio system and once again same problem. There is definitely something wrong with the wiring in my opinion.
Am experiencing all of the above issues on my 2017 CX-5. The local dealership had my vehicle for a week to replace the system which was covered under my extended "warranty". I also paid several hundred dollars to have software updated. Seemed to be better for a few weeks but now navigation completely locked up and will not reboot. Still waiting for call back from dealership lol

Sick of my infotainment system constantly turning on & off. Very frustrated. Does anyone know if they are planning a recall? I heard it was a possibility .
Bought a 2021 CX-5 a few weeks ago with less yhan 12k miles. Thought I was just pressing wrong buttons when I couldn't access Entertainment on the Infotainment system. Now channels/channel list cannot be accessed at all on any source and bluetooth connectivity is malfunctioning. Taking to a dealer, and when I made the appointment they said their not surprised as they have had many issues with these.

2022 CX-5, today is the exact 30 days after the delivery. 489 total miles in her life. Infortament continue to reboot every 6-7 minutes or so on my mini road trip back. It was very frustrating 3 hours

Just bought a used 2020 CX5 and have navigation issues as well. Twice it has tried to take me in a completely illogical direction that both times would have resulted in more than 20 minutes extra. I would use my phones GPS, but it won't allow me to access Android Play. I have plugged it in to the correct USB (phone icon), had the parking break on and followed you tube video instructions. How is this not a recall? How is this not fraudulent to install software that doesn't work?
