The most common problems with the Volvo XC70 3.2L engine are usually related to excessive oil consumption. The vehicle is known to burn through oil because the engine gets hot and that can lead to low oil between the service intervals. To keep an eye on that I recommend checking Your oil at least once a month to make sure it is not too low. Another common problem is the water pump housing has been known to leak. When this happens it can allow coolant to leak out and that can reduce the cooling capacity of the engine. That could lead to the engine overheating and causing permanent damage to it.
