Some of the most common problems on the 2016 Honda Civic 1.8 Vtec are an airbag light coming on and a failing power window switch. To be more specific, the airbag warning light comes on due to a defective occupant position sensor. What happens is that the sensor is designed to detect the weight of the driver or passenger and it will come on if it feels that weight but the seatbelt is not engaged. The issue here is that the sensor does not work and activates when the seats are empty. There is a recall for this issue. For the power window switch, the switch is known to malfunction at random not letting the user close or open the windows without any cause.

The common issues with the honda civic 1.8L motor are related to the clutch becoming worn quickly.
