A Honda CR-V rack might display several issues, including a leak from the power steering fluid compartment. This can cause the steering to become very stiff and difficult to turn. In some cases, it can cause the steering to lock up. A problem in the rack can also cause rattling or knocking sounds when the driver is turning the car. Each turn of the steering will cause the sound to increase progressively. If the car is parked or moving very slow, it will be particularly hard to turn. This is because the sitting weight of the car exerts more pressure on the tires at slow speeds. As a result, there is increased friction which is what makes it hard to turn.

Our 2018 CRV was having steering issues. We took it back the first time and they said they couldn't find a problem. Just picked it up from the second visit. They are replacing the steering rack assembly. Parts ordered from overseas and may take up to 3 months to arrive.

The honda crv line may have an issue where the power steering fluid leaks from the column, this can cause the wheel to be hard to turn.
