The newer model years of the Honda Fit come with a nifty push button start feature, which is a big convenience for drivers on the go. However, whenever a manufacturer introduces new technology, they're also introducing something new that can break. Oh and it will break, in the case of push button start. The biggest issue we see with push button starts in the Fit is a dead key fob battery, or a damaged fob. This can prevent the signal from being transmitted, which is an essential part of the startup procedure, predictably. Also common are issues with the push start switch, issues with the brake sensor, or signal interference -- especially common when the starting issues are location dependent.

If your honda fit is experiencing an issue with its push button start system, check the battery on your key fob, make sure you are firmly depressing the brake or check for a faulty starter.
