The 2000 Toyota 4Runner useS6 3/4" speakers in the front doors, and 6 1/2" speakers in the rear doors. These are pretty common speaker sizes, but 6 1/2" are much more common than 6 3/4". If You want to replace the front door speakers with new 6 1/2" components then there are adapter plates that are designed to help the new speakers fit without having to cut anything. There are also speaker wire harnesses that can adapt Your stock molex plug to a pair of wires to go to the speaker. Replacing the speakers in Your SUV is a great way to make the stereo sound better. If You want to improve it even more You can replace the head unit and add amplifiers.

This is not true, at least in my case. I have a 2000 SR5 and the fronts are 6 1/2 and the rears are more like 4"
