The 2003 Ford Escape has A5 X4.5" or 114.3mm lug pattern on the vehicle. This means that You have 5 lug nuts and they are 4.5 inches or 114.3mm apart from each other. When You are shopping for new wheels You will want to make sure that they have this pattern drilled into them. There are adapter plates on the market but they can add excessive stress to the wheel hubs or the wheels and damage them. Usually a reputable tire and wheel shop should be able to show You wheels that will fit on Your SUV. In general You do not want to go more than 2 inches larger than the OEM wheels because that can lead to rubbing while turning.
