If the radio has no sound in the 2018 Chevy Malibu then there could be a couple of things wrong. The first is that the connection between the radio and the speakers is bad. This could be due to a bad wire or a dead fuse. It is also possible the speakers themselves are not working. However, if there is not any apparent damage then You should check the fuse boxBy the left steering wheel. To get to the fuse box look to the left of the steering wheel and find a small seam or crack along the dash. Using a screwdriver or prybar You will want to pop this open. On the inside, You will find a bunch of fuses. On the back of the panel that You pulled open, You will see a diagram that will show You what each of the fuses is for. If this is not on the back of the panel then You can also find it in the owner's annual for the vehicle. Once You have figured out which fuse You need simply pull it out. The two sections that stick up should be connected by a thin strip of metal. If this has been broken then the fuse is no good and will need to be replaced. If this strip is there then the fuse is fine and can be popped back in. New fuses will cost You about 10 dollars, so they are pretty cheap.

Had this issue in my 2016 Malibu, soon after the Touch screen started acting up and then the whole system would only work at random times causing the screen to be black except when using back up camera. I replaced the display unit ( bought used radio) and it worked wonderful for a few days then did the same thing..Being fed up at this point i took it to Chevy and they insisted that it wasn’t able to connect to the new radio due to being from another vehicle. So here we go again.. They replace the radio and it won’t connect either. After several days they finally think they have got it connected successfully. I pay the $800 for the service and grab my keys... And guess what happens when I start it.... NO RADIO!! I just received the phone call to come pick it up again and that they are confident the issue is resolved. They had to call into GM to troubleshoot and were told it was another computer blocking the radio communication (sorry not exactly knowledgeable in this department) I will update with correct part name/ info once I get the invoice.. Fingers crossed!!

If the amp fuse is blown, that is probably the reason that you aren't getting any sound out of your 2018 chevy malibu radio.
