If the 2012 Chevy Cruze is leaking from the gas cap then it could be due to a cracked cap, or the thread has been damaged and it is not screwing in securely. A new cap will cost You about 30 dollars, so not too bad. If the gas cap is leaking then You will notice that the check engine light is on, and it will not go away until You fix it. While this will not cost You much in lost gas, it can because damage to the car if it manages to start a fire.
