The ESP BAS light is a trouble indicator light that indicates that there is an issue with Your 2008 Dodge Charger's Electronic Stability ProgRam (ESP) and/or Your Brake Assist ProgRam (BAS). These systems work together, and a fault in either, or both, will cause the light to come on. Check the brakes and the wheel speed sensors to see if they are damaged or worn causing the ESP light to come on. A worn brake pad can cause the ESP light to come on. Driving with the ESP BAS light on is not going to leave You stranded on the side of the road, but I would get it looked at as quickly as possible.

The 2008 Dodge Charger (ESP) Electronic Stability Program and (BAS) Brake Assist System. The yellow ESP/BAS malfunction indicator light will turn on when the key in the ignition switch is turned to the "ON" position. The light should go out with the engine running. The system will turn this light on continuously while the engine running if it detects a malfunction in either the ESP or the BAS or both.
