On Hyundai vehicles, the letters GLS occur, and they refer to the level of trim of the individual vehicle. Options ranging from the standard factory model to the sporting and limited-edition models are trim tiers. For starters, the 2014 Hyundai Elantra four door sedan has three levels of trim. The GLS Hyundai is never an official acronym, but names such as the grand luxury sport and the grand limited edition are used by numerous automotive dealers. The Hyundai Elantra SE is the base trim model. It came with air conditioning and cruise control as standard. The Limited and GLS Sport, which contain enhancements such as a better engine and a more sporty suspension, are next.
