This was to allow consumers to have an option for another reminder in which You can set it in the Driver Information Center for anything You would like. You can set the interval for mileage mi/km depending on what You set it for. You can also turn it off if You go into the settings and put the interval at zero. If the car You purchased was used then someone set the alert indicator for something and it is now letting You know so You don't forget. The light will keep illuminating until You turn it off.
