The Dodge Caravan ECON button when pressed will maximize Your fuel economy by regulating the engine and transmission timing. When the button is engaged it will reduce the fuel injected inside the engine to make it use less gas and increase the MPG. The main reason why You are saving gas is because of peal power reduction. This will enable the car to adjust the power and lower the RPM of the engine to save Your gas. The ECON mode is meant to be used when traveling at lower speeds such as urban or suburban environments and also during longer road trips. To activate the economy mode You will push the button and it will show a light illuminated on Your dash instrument cluster.

What it also does is when you press the button, instead of being a v6 engine it turns off two cylinders saving fuel and becoming a 4 cylinder van.

I don't know where you got that nonsense, Joseph, but you really need to give your head a shake, Pal.
