The code b2290 on the Ford Edge indicates an occupant classification system fault. This can be caused by a faulty occupant classification system module or by an ocsm harness that is open or shorted or by an ocsm circuit with a poor connection. The Occupant Classification Module (OCM) is located underneath the front passenger seat. The Sensor is located beneath the passenger seat cushion foam. Any weight on the seat will be sensed by the Sensor. The OCM uses input from the Sensor to determine the front passenger's most probablE-Classification. When repairing vehicles with sensors incorporated in the track, modifying the seat in any way will change what each sensor reads.
