Loving the 2020 ford edge!
Super roomy, great ride, decent on gas approximately 27 mpg, the SUV is very heavy and sturdy. I feel safe when I am driving this vehicle and I love the look!! This is a sporty looking SUV yet very practical for everyday use! I highly recommend this vehicle!

Best ford yet - the story of my life on the edge.
Great handling and traction in rain or snow. Cruise control is seamless. Enough power to merge easily on a highway. Gas mileage per gallon is pretty good as well. Seats are comfortable. The factory wipers are even a decent quality. It does not overheat when idling which is positive.

I love the gear stick. Instead of it being a stick, it is designed as a dial.
I haven't had any problems with my vehicle. It has a lot of room and is great on gas mileage. I love my car! I have always had fords and think they're reliable and good cars. My car is comfortable and has a good amount of legroom, which is important for me because I am a tall person. I think my car is very reliable.

2020 ford edge. Rides well, handles well.
It goes when you hit the gas. It has hands free liftgate. I love the heated seats and steering wheel. The ActiveX that the seating is made from is comfortable it has a light on the rear view mirror so you can tell if someone is there in your blind spot. I have not used but I am sure I will like the windshield wiper de icer rides well and handles well.

I love my car so much and here’s why:
Very comfortable and reliable. I love the safety features as a first time mom, it makes me feel like my baby is safe in the car. I like the lane assist and pre collision detection the most because it allows me to keep my baby safe at all times when people slam on their breaks. I like the size, it is not too big but not too small either. And I like the feel of it too.

The 2020 ford edge - best car ever!
I love the ford edge. I have had about 6 cars in my lifetime and I'll never stray from the edge! It is the perfect size with amazing features like the backup camera that I couldn't go without. The seats fold down easily in the back and the stereo is easily controlled on the touch screen.

Overall great car for families!
My ford edge is great. It is very spacious and has plenty of room for all of our gear. The gas mileage is also adequate for a car of that size. My only issue is that the dashboard is too wide. I feel like this makes the car bigger than it needs to be.

Should be RECALL on wiper Module
Just acquired a 2013 ford Edge Limited from Carvana with 50,000 miles on it. This car is my dream car. It has everything on it that I have ever wanted but never had before. Here is my issue....in learning what everything is about and how to use it on the care, I went over my short warranty with a wiper issue. The delay on my wipers doesn't function correctly. I had this looked into with my own mechanic and he had the car for four days. New swith, new this, new that, nothing resolved the problem. The car comes back to me as it was. So I call Ford Customer Care after reading numerous reviews on wiper issues, to see if there is a recall, and am told there is not and the only thing I can do is to pay the $900.00 it will take to fix the problem my and if there is ever a recall I can get reimbursed.....what a joke. Some of these complaints go back to 2005. What to do about this....dig deep into the pockets because Ford is taking no responsibility for poor manufacturing for many years on their wiper modules.....This issue should be under recall!!!!

Absolutely not! If you trade cars every year You will do better than if you bought it to drive for several Years. Backup cameras are junk charge for for replacement is $400, replaced the unit Myself for $32. Water pump went out costs $1400 to fix as the water pump is in the engine had to drop engine and carriage pull the timing cover just to get to it. By the way I was lucky as if it were to fail while driving it would leak into engine and trash the engine. Ford has had class action cases filed against them about this issue. You will find more info @youtube or forums. Something to remember when traveling with your family. I recently lease a 2020 Ford Edge and I am disappointed with the vehicle quality, fit and finish, powertrain problems, Navigation sucks, interior space is poorly designed, inefficient use of engine compartment space and interior space. Dashboard console is too big and bulky with lot of empty space behind it. Poorly engineered. Fit and finish is poorly done. Many things about the vehicle are not symmetrical. Many gaps inside the vehicle interior. 8 speed transmission is sluggish and unreliable. Door panels design is poor. These Ford engineers needs to learn from other car manufacturers. No wonder Ford discontinue building the Edge, Flex, Nautilus, MKT by 2021. Who in the hell would want to spend over $40k for these vehicles.

Pros and cons of 2020 ford escape.
Coming from a 2014 ford expedition the size comparison is most obvious. Although I just recently purchased this vehicle so far it is great! I am excited to see how well the gas mileage does. Only have two children who are not in car seats is definitely a plus!

Mykey app lets you set a speed cap for the car.
It is comfortable and very roomy (there is ample space for pets and luggage). It is also very fuel efficient for its size. However, it is sluggish (acceleration and speed are not great) and it drives poorly in snow. It also has a poor turning radius, which makes parallel parking and backing out of the driveway difficult.

Summary of the 2020 ford edge.
The vehicle has its upsides and downsides, it is a very good travel car and will last someone a long time, the quality of cars that ford makes are pretty good. I would recommend this car if you have several members in your family who lives with you.

What Do Critics Say About the Ford Edge?

  • Consumer Reports says the 2020 Ford Edge is a pleasant and well-rounded midsize SUV with high owner satisfaction scores as it ages.
  • Edmunds rates the Edge at 4/5, praising the fuel-efficient engine choices, but doesn’t like the firm suspension on rough roads.
  • Kelley Blue Book users give the Edge a 4.4/5, enjoying the quiet and comfortable cabin, but owners don’t like the slow transmission.

What Common Problems Does the 2020 Ford Edge Have?

Common problems found on the 2020 Ford Edge include the transmission hesitating while changing gears, rodents eating soy-based wiring, along with lunging forward with auto stop-start. Overall, these problems are similar to a lot of other midsize SUVs with average repair costs.

The transmission hesitating while changing gears is the most widespread complaint from 2020 Ford Edge owners in the first 3,000 miles. There are software updates available for the transmission which improves its performance. Most dealerships will install software updates for free, while some charge around $100.

Rodents eating soy-based wiring is another issue reported by Ford Edge owners. The wire coating attracts rodents more than in some other cars. We recommend parking inside overnight if possible to avoid pests. If you have to park outside then installing a strobe light can help deter rats and other critters from chewing on the wiring.

Lunging forward with auto stop-start also shows up on some 2020 Ford Edge models in the first 1,500 miles. There are software updates to the safety system which improves its performance. Dealerships usually install these updates for free when the SUV is in for service, but some charge around $50.

There are three recalls on the 2020 Ford Edge, which is similar to other midsize SUVs from the same year. The most serious recall is for the rear drive unit, which may not have enough fluid, causing it to seize up and fail. Ford will add fluid to affected models for free. Other recalls cover the rearview camera along with some loose bolts, both of which Ford will also fix for free.

How Long Will the 2020 Ford Edge Last?

A well-maintained 2020 Ford Edge can last around 250,000 miles, which is around 50,000 miles less than the long-lasting Toyota Highlander. Regular annual maintenance costs are a little higher than other midsize SUVs, according to data provided by Repair Pal, at $585 per year.

As a used 2020 Ford Edge reaches 100,000 miles, and depending on the vehicle history, owners should be prepared to replace the drive belt tensioner for $200, the oxygen sensor costing $300, along with the MAP sensor which is around $150.

How Is the Technology?

Entertainment technology is great with a standard 8-inch touchscreen display which has Ford Sync 3 software along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.  Optional upgrades include more powerful stereo system choices.

Safety technology is excellent for a midsize SUV with a lot of standard driver assistance features including:

  • Rearview camera
  • Forward automatic emergency braking
  • Ford’s MyKey
  • Rain-sensing windshield wipers
  • Blind spot monitoring
  • Forward collision warning
  • Pedestrian detection
  • Automatic high-beam headlights
  • Lane keep assist
  • Rear cross traffic alert

Optional advanced safety features include:

  • Parallel park assist
  • 180-degree parking camera system
  • Stop-and-go adaptive cruise control
  • Adaptive headlights
  • Lane centering
  • Front parking sensors
  • Evasive steering assist

Is the 2020 Ford Edge a Good Value?

Yes, the 2020 Ford Edge is a good value since it’s reasonably reliable while offering good practicality. The blue book fair purchase price ranges from $21,050 to $36,300, making it cheaper than a Honda Pilot or Jeep Grand Cherokee. When new, the price range was $31,100 to $43,265. Depreciation is a bit worse than other SUVs, losing about 12% of its current value per year.

What are the Different Models of the Ford Edge?

There are four models of the 2020 Ford Edge offered, from the base SE to the more luxurious Titanium, there’s also a sportier ST Model available. The 2020 Edge is also available with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

SE is the entry-level model with:

  • 18-Inch Alloy Wheels
  • Cloth Seats
  • Reclining Rear Seatbacks
  • Rearview Camera

  • Six-Speaker Sound System

SEL is a step up, adding:

  • Simulated Leather Upholstery
  • Power Adjustable Front Passenger Seat
  • Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel
  • Roof Rails

What Engines Come In the Ford Edge?

  • The base engine is an average 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder which makes 250 horsepower, while getting up to 24 MPG. It comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
  • An available upgrade on the ST model is the strong 2.7L turbocharged V6 which produces 335 horsepower at up to 21 MPG. This engine also features an eight-speed automatic transmission. Performance is great, taking only 5.7 seconds to go from 0-60 MPH.

What Colors Does the Ford Edge Come In?

How Comfortable Is the Ford Edge?

The 2020 Ford Edge is a comfortable and practical midsize SUV. Its interior is spacious and well-designed, with plenty of room for passengers and their belongings. The seats are supportive and comfortable, and the ride quality is generally smooth and composed, even on rougher roads.

The Edge comes standard with features including dual-zone automatic climate control and a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and higher trim levels offer additional amenities such as leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof. The vehicle also has a relatively quiet cabin, thanks to features like acoustic glass and active noise cancellation technology.

How Much Storage Space Does the Ford Edge Have?

The 2020 Ford Edge is a midsize SUV that has a spacious cargo area for its class. It offers 39.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second-row seats, which is enough to accommodate several large suitcases or a week’s worth of groceries. The cargo area can be expanded to 73.4 cubic feet by folding down the second-row seats. This makes it easier to transport large items such as furniture or sports equipment.

The Edge also has additional storage options such as a center console, door pockets, and a glove compartment to store smaller items. Overall, the 2020 Ford Edge provides ample storage space for its size and is a practical choice for those in need of a vehicle that can handle both passengers and cargo.

VehicleHistory Image

What Are the Differences Between Years?

The second generation of the Ford Edge came out for the 2015 model year.

2015: Fully redesigned for the second generation with new styling, engines, and technology.

2016: Standard SYNC 3 and keyless entry added to all models.

2017: Offers the same features as earlier years.

2018: No changes since 2016.

2019: Minor exterior styling changes, optional safety technology upgrades, new eight-speed transmission.

2020: ST-Line model added to the lineup, dual-zone climate control is standard.

2021: New 12-inch touchscreen, standard SYNC 4 stereo system, along with a seven-speed transmission on ST models.

How Does the Ford Edge Compare to the Competition?

The 2020 Ford Edge is a good midsize SUV offering reliability improvements from earlier years paired with a lot of the latest safety technology missing on some of the competition in the same price range.

The Ford Escape is a smaller SUV from Ford which is around $4,000 less. Where the Ford Escape stands out is with its ability to easily park in larger cities, while the Ford Edge offers more technology. We recommend the Ford Edge since it’s a more practical choice with better reliability ratings.

The Chevy Equinox is another SUV which can be found for $3,000 less. Standard technology is a bit nicer in the Chevy Equinox, while the Ford Edge ultimately has more passenger and cargo space. We recommend the Ford Edge since it offers more room and power for the money.

Great car that lost it's mind
Have had our Edge Titanium just over 2 years, it's been a very good vehicle in most respects, it doesn't come near the mileage that the sticker says and to get the great horsepower it requires hi test which makes it run like a jack rabbit but with the price of high test gas that is not very practical. But the big problem started about 6 weeks ago, the c oymputer has lost it's mind , the saved radio stations drop out when the car is turned off, we do have XM but have to turn it on every time we start the car. Most of the time we also have to pick our station again . It used to have the ability to let me know where it is parked but that also died, for the past week it thinks it is parked 3 blocks away from where it sits in the garage. The GPS works great but don't turn the car off during the trip or you will have to reprogram it also, there is a provision for the backup camaera to stay on for a while after you put it in drive but that also has to be reset every time.Goes n on wednesday and we will see what Ford dealer can to this time this is my first Ford in over 40 years I hope I wasn't wrong this time. The dealer is trying to fix it but having worked in electronics for most of my life I know that if they don't have some replacement parts on hand to try that it will be a very hard thing to figure it out. I guess only time will tell, there won't be another Edge in my life I'll go back to the "T" cars. My other vehicle is a 2005 with 110,000 miles on it and still runs great.

Great vehicle at an affordable price.
I love my vehicle. I have put limited dollars into it other than servicing and oil changes. Currently, there is a small problem with the o2 sensor but there could be a lot of reasons for it and I haven't taken the time to bring it to a service center. The cars drive train is great. It fits all of our ski equipment as we like to do that in winter. Overall, a fantastic buy.

We love this car! We have always bought fords because of the reliability of them and the value. It is great on gas mileage and very comfortable for trips. We have put 26,000 miles on this car in two years. We have the fordpass app so we can remote start our car, make our payment, and gets notifications of when to schedule regular maintenance, all in one place. We have two grown children and there is plenty of room for all of us. We are thoroughly pleased with our purchase.

Edge titanium: features comparable to most luxury SUVs at a reasonable price.
Edge titanium is well appointed, comparable to the Lincoln MKX. Love the two tone leather interior and heated/cooled seats. 2.0 liter eco engine performs well with surprising horsepower and excellent gas mileage. B&o stereo system with sync is easy to use and sounds fantastic. Android auto feature, allowing waze navigation is outstanding.

Everything else is great and it gives a really smooth ride.
I have only had this vehicle for less than a week but so far I love it. I love the added perks of the wireless charger spot, heated steering wheel and seats, and memory seats. I also like the vehicle's safety ratings though the ratings on the gas mileage weren't so good ? 5 out of 10. I feel like I am riding in luxury since it is a titanium trim rather than an se or anything.

Ford edge: overall great car with lots of room.
This has been a great car overall. It drives well, the interior is comfortable and spacious, and I feel really safe. My main complaint is that it seems pretty wide, which can be a problem when I am going down narrow streets in my area. On larger streets and highways, it is not a problem at all.

Ford edge first impression.
Love the size, the heated seats and how it drives. I do not like the foot rear lift gate, I can wave my foot there all day and it will never open. We did have a issue with our back up camera. Sometimes it would work and at other times it would not. We just had it replaced as it had a recall on it. But other than those two thing it has been a great car so far.

The ford edge is overall a great car if you do not plan on too many snow trips.
The ford edge is not excellent for use in the snow. It has plenty of space in the front seats and trunk but the back seat is a little smaller. It has a very good response and safety system keeping accidents low and has an all around camera feature to view parking and a back up camera for assistance.

Safety, reliability, and features
We purchased our 2020 Edge SEL Feb 2019. It mainly sits in the garage looking pretty while we drive our older F-150. We live in Kansas. We drove the car and stayed in South Texas the 1st part of Jan 2021. One of the reasons for going, was to cross into Mexico for much needed dental work. Wife loves Mexican ceramics and pottery. When we headed back north, the car was completely filled with Mexican goodies. It still made over 28 average mpg running around 80 mph. The safety with the Co-Pilot 360 is fantastic; all vehicles made today should have these safety features standard equipment. Just set the adaptable cruise at 80 and the car did the rest. Going through San Antone, Ft Worth, and OKC stop and go traffic was a breeze. The car would slow down and speed up on it's own, while keeping itself inside the lane. Instead of needing to constantly keep my eye on the vehicle ahead during stop and go traffic, I was able to look around. It will totally drive itself for 15 - 20 seconds before giving you an alert to put your hands back on the wheel. In our opinion, the Edge is best looking, safest vehicle made today. Hoping this will be the last car we ever buy, since it is our dream vehicle. Ford, I give you kudos for an outstanding vehicle!!

I really enjoy this version of my car as I previously owned a 2017 edge. The ride is much smoother and the interior updates are much better too. The increased center screen, heated leather seats and dial shifter makes this model feel luxurious. The laser cut floor liners were a nice added touch too!

Great vehicle, love the sunroof and heated steering wheel!
The ford edge is a great vehicle. It is the perfect size for my family of four. My family loves all of the different features such as the sun roof, heated steering wheel, etc. I love everything about it except it does not have the automatic trunk lift.

An interesting detail is the sport seats. I love the look and the comfort.
I have only had my car for 2 months. It is actually the St sport version but that was not listed as an option. So far I love the seats, the sport option, and the smoothness of the ride. The heating and cooling options are confusing and I find positioning of lots of the features somewhat annoying.

Best midsize SUV on the market 2020.
Love my edge. The backseat and trunk have more space than I would expect and the performance of the St is phenomenal. I love all of the bells and whistles like the ambient lighting that you can pick from multiple colors and the lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control make traveling a breeze. The car practically drives itself!

More than satisfied with my vehicle.
I love my car! The only thing I do not like is my collision alert will go off in a normal circumstance when I am just applying the brakes like normal and not close to hitting a car sometimes. Other than that, my car performs really well. It drives smoothly and I can always rely on it to get me to where I need to go.

My vehicle is unique, stylish and reliable! Absolutely love the ford edge.
I have not had any problems with my ford edge! I love the interior, it has leather seats, heated seats, navigation, CarPlay and many more features. It also has easy access to call 911 which makes me feel extremely safe when I am driving the car. Also it has sensors on each side to prevent you from moving lanes when someone is driving beside you. This is another comfort measure.

2020 ford edge is a catch.
The 2020 ford edge se model has lots of safety features that are amazing, such as lane keeping and pre collision alerts. It also has great features like automatic lights that adjusted from regular to bright as needed and it will detect a car coming and turn off bright and so on. Has automatic wiper blades as well they detect how fast they need to be with the rain all this can be turned on or off if you don't like it though. But for a base model I think it's pretty amazing.

Great 2020 edge sel review great year and model.
Care is very reliable. The new safety added are very nice side, mirrors, lane transition, ability that if your car is switching lanes it will move back, if you move your hands from when the car shakes. Very roomy for you and your travelers. Also has real outlet plugs so makes it berry nice for traveling while having to work and charge computer.

My ford edge has become my favorite car that I have ever owned or driven!
I bought my 2020 ford edge because I needed the room in the back. The edge gave me the perfect amount of space and it rides an smoothly! It is technology is advanced enough to stay competitive but not too hard to use. It is sleek look gives me the sporty vibe that I wanted! I love my new car!

Don't believe all the reviews listed here. The Edge is a great SUV. Most of the complainers do not own a 2020 model.
On my third Edge. Own a 2020 SE AWD now and none of them have been any problems. Most of these reviews here have nothing to do with the 2020 model, they are complaining about old ones that are out of warranty.

I like the color and the options.
It has all the options I needed and the color. It also gets great gas mileage and is comfortable to drive. It is easy to take care of and the service I get at the dealer is very personal and dedicated to my satisfaction. It fits in my garage and easy to clean plus my wife likes to drive it.

The features I love about the ford edge.
I haven't experienced any issues, except I would've liked the option to use the key rather than only push start. The car has been reliable and runs smoothly. It is gas efficiency is amazing and so far I haven't encountered issues with performance. The crash assistance feature has helped me prevent an accident on two occasions in the short time I have owned my car.

Great vehicle with many safety features.
The 2020 ford edge has a lot of safety features. Pre- collision assistant, lane keeping system, blind spot alerts. It has a backup camera and alert on the back up camera if you back up too close to something. It has an extra cup holder in each door.

No car is perfect, sometimes the sync does not like to work.
I do not have 4000 miles on the car yet but the rear wiper already broke, the fuse had to be taken out because the wiper wouldn't turn off. There is a recall for the backup camera, on my car the symbol that lights up if the car is close to hitting something does not always show up. The engine rattles and I need to take it in to be checked.

2020 ford edge- great SUV.
Love the car so far! Bigger and better than the escape for a better price. Drives really nice and has decent pick up. Love the interior features like the heated steering wheel and seats. Apple carplay is a great feature. Feel very safe in the edge.
accountCircle Christina H on October 26, 2020
The edge- amazing vehicle.
Smooth drive, side mirror alerts, crash sensor, rear backup camera alert, can set high beams to automatically turn on/off - turns off automatically when car approaches/ turns off when no approaching cars. Heated steering wheel and seats. 2nd row seats pull down with a click of a button. Trunk is spacious.

How my vehicle makes work very easy for me.
In fact I love my vehicle very much to the extent that I am not willing to let it go just like that else I have lost a very great tool for my work and it will make me very stressful at work place and also going to work too will be a lot more difficult for me since I will have to walk to work.

Ford Edge Prolems

Love this amazing, incredible car!
There is nothing wrong with this car. I love everything about it. My car is the sel package and has leather seats, which I love because they are easy to clean. The car drives smoothly, and has a turbo boost engine which gives it that certain 'get up and go' needed to navigate traffic.
accountCircle Charles S on September 11, 2020
An interesting detail of my vehicle is that I love all of the mechanics.
So far this vehicle has been great! And there has been no problems and I love all of the features and I hope to find more features about this vehicle and I am excited because this will be my son's new car once I am done with it and I know he will really enjoy it!!

Dingy towing
The car wats not towable as described by sales man nor via the service manual. This caused the whe to lock up numerous times about (20) during our first month trip. We took it to first a dealer Las Vegas and whose service department said it was my responsibity
