The Ford Escape's information panel is equipped with several standard warning lights and indicators. If the driver witnesses an illuminated "lock" light, often next to the hazard button, this is an indication the vehicle'S4 doors and trunk are locked. The Escape automatically locks itself when on, engaged and being shifted into park. To switch the light off or disengage the automatic locks while driving, depress the driver's door lock button on the driver's door frame. The lock light is a safety feature to ensure entry and exit to the vehicle are secured while the car is moving. "Unlocking" the Escape while it is moving may put some passengers at risk in case of emergency or accident.

The ford escape has a lock light on the dash that means the anti-theft system is stopping the car from being started.
My Ford Escape 2012 will not crank, and it not the battery. Or the alternator what can it be.
